Update

We are proud to announce that we received funding from the “Creative Europe” program for our new game project. The grant program from the EU based the decision on our submitted project, and our studio track record, and awarded us with the full amount of €150,000. This comes on top of the €50,000 that we recently received from the Dutch “Gamefonds” fund.

We are extremely excited to continue development on our next (rather ambitious) title.  Together with the revenue from Metrico+, this will complete the budget to work on our new experimental game project for the coming years.

As soon as we are ready to share more information on the project, we’ll make sure that you’ll find out about it!

Metrico+ passed the Xbox One certification, so we’d like to announce that

The Metrico+ Xbox One version will release on January the 20th!

Check the link below for more information and to pre-order Metrico+ for the Xbox One:

A big thanks to ID@Xbox for making this possible. We’re looking forward to hearing all the reactions from Xbox One players on the world we created!

When we started Digital Dreams we were just 3 guys making stuff that we loved. We’re incredibly grateful that Sony picked us up a while back. Back then we didn’t even know yet what the world of Metrico would look like and how it would work. All we had was this scruffy prototype, but Sony had faith in us and the game, and helped making it into an actual game that is coming out today on PlayStation 4 and Steam.

Working with PlayStation

Like so many of you, we grew up with PlayStation. We’ve had so many fantastic games and experiences that we will never forget: games like Rez, Metal Gear Solid, Journey or Shadow of the Colossus are just a few of a very long list of games that made a big impression on us. It’s what inspired us to start a company with one goal in mind: make original game experiences no one ever experienced before. When looking back, now that our studio has released our first game on PlayStation 4, we can honestly say this is a dream coming true.

Our personal journeys

While working on Metrico+, we obviously experienced a lot personally as well. Lots of things changed for us in the meantime: Relationships came and went, we had to move offices and homes and we all grew a little older and wiser.

The company changed as well. We worked with lots of different people to make Metrico+ possible. Most moved out when their work was finished, some stayed, but all had one thing in common: We all became close friends. As game developers, particularly on lengthy projects such as Metrico+, all of these personal endeavours become part of the experience you’re creating. It’s this weird symbiosiss between your personal and professional lives that is difficult to put into words. It’s what makes it so difficult but also satisfying to release a game.

Enjoy Metrico+!

Without sounding too cheesy, we can honestly say the players are the reason why we can make these original games.
We can’t wait to show you the next world that we’re creating. But for now, we really hope you enjoy the quirky world that is Metrico+. Please let us know what you think!

Metrico will release the 5th of August on PSN!

Infographic jokes

•  “Raise the bar graph” – Gamespot
•  “A man walks into a bar chart” – Pocketgamer

A fine collection of fantastic infographic jokes, we must say. Keep em coming!

We are very glad to finally have Metrico at a point where we can start to show it to you! And so Digital Dreams is going on tour with this first playable. Metrico is currently in a Pre-Alpha stage, but it already reflects what the game is about, and we’d love to get your feedback while we keep working on it.
